National Infrared Services (NIS) uses infrared technology to find moisture intrusion, water damage, mold, structural breaches (cracks, leaks, sealant failures, etc) and for testing air quality. This state-of-the-art technology is safe, fast and can "see" in walls without damaging them.
Why do you need National Infrared Services?
Why do you need a CertifyDry ThermalMapping of your site?
Why do you need a CertifyFry ThermalMapping of your site?
What is Certified "Dry"?
Certified "Dry" is a process that utilizes infrared technology to assist in
the assessment of moisture content in building materials.
What is Infra-Spection?
Infra Spection is the NIS infra-red imaging assessment of new construction.
This process evaluates and instantly assesses the moisture content of building
materials, scans for window or door seal breaches, uses thermal imaging to
search for any foundation cracks and utilizes our patent pending thermalmapping
process for leak detection.
Why should a builder have a Certified "Dry" Infra Spection
done
on all of their new homes?
The answer to this question is two fold. First, the Certified "Dry" process
is a preventative measure designed to minimize the potential for excess moisture
in building materials as well assure that no excess moisture is trapped behind
enclosed walls. Second, the Infra-Spection can alert the builder to any potential
structural breaches (cracks, leaks, sealant failures, etc.) so they can be corrected
before they become problematic.
Utilizing this two step service enhances a builders' reputation with the Certified "Dry" stamp of approval and may reduce liability and insurance costs.
Who is National Infrared Services (NIS)?
NIS is an industry leader in infra red imaging and is recognized by the camera
manufacturer as an innovator in utilizing the technology for structural inspection.
How long does the process take?
It takes 2-4 hours to conduct an infra-spection and certify "dry" a
newly constructed home.
What documents are provided to the builder after an assessment?
There are three parts to the folio delivered after each new construction assessment.
Each home that is certified "dry" receives a certificate stating
that moisture levels are within the acceptable range for the region. Also delivered
to the builder is an efficient and detailed report on the infra spection findings
that includes digital and thermal pictures. The third item in the package is
our exclusive and patented streaming DVD a tamper proof documentation of the
entire thermalmapping evaluation of the property.
Infrared Imaging
NIS has developed the patent-pending ThermalMapping process that utilizes asvanced infrared imaging to accurately pinpoint the source of water intrusion into a structure. This method of inspection is non-invasive, non-destructive, efficient, thorough and cost effective. Named "Infra-Spection" by NIS, applications of this technology include:

Infrared Leak Detection & Origin/Cause Investigations
Utilizing advanced infrared imaging National Infrared Services (NIS) provides a specialized infrared inspection of homes that have water damage, moisture intrusions or visible mold.
With our military-grade thermal imaging cameras we can instantly and precisely determine the source of a structural leak. This process eliminates the guesswork in determining the source of a water intrusion or leak and is non-invasive and non-destructive because the camera penetrates through walls.
An infrared inspection is a process to be utilized when you suspect a property has water damage and/or mold. Insurers call us for an infrared assessment when:
• A leak detection is needed (roof, ceiling, windows, plumbing, water
heater, foundation)
•
A basement has previously flooded, appears wet or has a lingering musty
odor
•
There are observable signs of mold that could be toxic and need to be tested
•
A water intrusion has caused structural damage and an “origin & cause” assessment
is needed to determine if the claim is the result of a covered peril
•
Windows and doors display visible condensation problems or moisture build-up
•
Drywall is crumbling or peeling
National Infrared is an industry leader in utilizing infrared imaging for
leak detection – and in fact is recognized by the camera manufacturer
as being an innovator in infrared structural assessment. The adjusters and
insurers we work with have found our company to be professional, efficient,
highly knowledgeable and cost-effective. Because infrared imaging penetrates
through walls, thousands of
dollars in tear-out and remediation costs can be saved by an instantaneous
diagnostic assessment performed with no destruction of property.
Mold Inspection and Air Quality Testing
In addition to being highly regarded for our infrared services, NIS also has a strong reputation as a mold inspection company. We are the only company in Michigan that utilizes infrared imaging as part of our standard procedure for a mold investigation. This is an important distinction because finding the source of the mold is instrumental in preventing its return after remediation. Identifying the cause quickly with no destructive measures also saves potentially thousands of dollars in restoration expenses.
Our standard mold inspection services are provided for residential and commercial properties and include:
• Infrared investigation of mold causation
•
Visual assessment and inspection of mold that includes air samples, viable
samples,
and instrumentation readings with moisture meter equipment
•
Excess moisture detection
•
Independent lab analysis of samples with results available 24-48 hours
after testing
•
Written protocols for remediation & restoration that are in accordance
with IICRC standards
•
SBS (Sick Building Syndrome) assessment
•
Preventative maintenance tips
•
Post remediation clearance testing
